The 25-year-old Roman, n.8 in the ranking and sixth seeded, after a battle lasting 3 and a half hours, overtook the Belarusian Ilya Ivashka, n.53 in the ranking in the third round.
The blue won with a score of 6-7 (5-7), 6-2, 6-4, 2-6, 6-3.
