- Now it feels very good but the last three miles were terrible actually.

It was an uphill of four kilometers at the end that got on his feet quite well, says Lennart when SVT gets hold of him half an hour after the finish in Motala.

Unusually tough round this year

And several testify to a tough round this year.

Normally, the Vättern Round is one and a half miles shorter - and is run the week before midsummer.

When the race is now run in September and Lennart and thousands of other cyclists started in the middle of the night, it was minus degrees in some places.

And for Lennart, things were going really badly in the dark:

- It was an accident in the beginning with some people falling over.

It was close that the Vättern Round was coming to an end for me.

But I managed to throw the bike aside.

That is the risk when driving when it is dark and it is difficult to see in front of you, he says.

"May bite together"

You have still ridden four Swedish classics and six Vättern rounds.

How do you sum up this year's race?

- I think it went pretty well anyway. The first 20 miles are a transport distance, everyone says. Then you have to bite the last 10-12 miles. It's a tough race. Many have the most difficulty for the Vättern Round of all the Classic disciplines.
