• Aragonès Airport requires Aena to rectify the El Prat expansion project

  • La Ricarda The environmental obstacle that stands in the way of the expansion of El Prat

After the first 100 days of his presidency and on the last weekend before the Diada, Pere Aragonès gathers his Executive this Saturday in an extraordinary "working day" to convey an image of unity away from the tensions and discrepancies that They appear periodically between the two Cabinet partners, Esquerra Republicana and Junts per Catalunya.

In a session that will last until late in the afternoon in La Vall d'en Bas (Gerona), the folders placed in preferential order on the table correspond to matters such as the imminent meeting of the

dialogue table

with the Government of Pedro Sánchez or the

expansion of the El Prat airport

.

After the controversy originated as a result of the document presented yesterday by

Aena

, in which it is specified that the expansion "would affect areas of the

Natura 2000 Network

", and to dispel any shadow of divergences within the Executive on this project, the spokesperson

Patrícia Plaja

has assured that the Government "will not endorse any proposal that destroys or affects

La Ricarda

", a protected environmental area that borders the aerodrome. In this way, the centenary lagoon is indicated as the "red line" of a reform that the Generalitat refers to "the terms and conditions that are agreed in the master plan", which will have to be approved this month by the Council of Ministers.

Plaja, on the other hand, has communicated that next week the names of the group that will lead the

National Agreement for Amnesty and Self-determination will be announced

and has confirmed that one of the members will be the activist and former CUP deputy in Parliament

David Fernàndez

.

The Generalitat intends for this forum to bring together parties, entities and institutions in favor of these two demands that Aragonès will bring to the dialogue table as its main claims.

Light price

Another issue that has been on the table is the dizzying rise in the

price of electricity

.

In this regard, the Government says that it will study the possibility of "taking legal measures against this abuse" and "looking for alternatives to a market that has been shown to be inefficient to guarantee an essential good such as energy."

The Catalan Executive, on the other hand, has not wanted to assess the information published on alleged contacts between Carles Puigdemont and the Russian intelligence services due to "ignorance of those meetings."

Other issues of lesser media rank have occupied the agenda of the Government's day of coexistence, in which the general secretaries of each council have also participated.

This type of meeting will be repeated

every six months

, as stated in the agreement signed between ERC and Junts that allowed, last May, the investiture of Aragonès.

The

president

intends to avoid the stagnant operation between Departments that occurred in the two previous legislatures, which caused some ministries to function as two parallel governments.
