Pro-Syrian regime media reported that the regime gave the fighters from Daraa residents, who reject the settlement, until four in the evening today, to get out of it, while the people appealed to the King of Jordan to intervene to stop their tragedy.

Sources told Al-Jazeera that the neighborhoods of Daraa al-Balad are witnessing a cautious calm, and matters were not clear after the deadline set by the regime forces for the fighters from the people of Daraa.

The Negotiations Committee on behalf of the people announced the collapse of negotiations with the regime, and said that it had asked Russia to secure a mass displacement of the people of Daraa Al-Balad to Turkey or Jordan, due to the regime’s violation of the agreement signed with them 3 days ago.

Appeal to the King of Jordan

With the state of anticipation that Daraa is experiencing after the collapse of negotiations;

The people appealed to Jordan's King Abdullah II to intervene to stop what they called "the operations of extermination and displacement" to which they are exposed by the Syrian regime, without Russian intervention to prevent them.

They also appealed to him - in a video - to open a safe route for them to reach Jordan.

The spokesman for the Central Committee in Daraa, Adnan al-Masalma, told Anadolu Agency that Bashar al-Assad's regime had violated the Russian-brokered ceasefire on September 1.

The spokesman pointed out that Russia and the regime made additional requests for the basic terms of the agreement, which the negotiating committee described as “impossible,” most notably the surrender of all individual weapons and the deployment of 9 military checkpoints instead of 3 points, which was stipulated in the agreement.

He explained that al-Assad's forces are persistent in their request to search all houses in the neighborhood and hand over all light weapons, which the residents reject.

On June 25, the regime forces and their affiliated militias imposed a siege on the Daraa al-Balad area, after the opposition refused to hand over light weapons, as it violated an agreement brokered by Russia in 2018, which stipulated the handing over of heavy and medium weapons.

A month later, the negotiating committee and the regime forces reached an agreement stipulating a partial withdrawal of the remaining light weapons in the hands of the opposition, and a partial presence of the regime forces, but the latter violated the agreement and insisted on complete control of the area.

The city of Daraa is called the cradle of the Syrian revolution after its people called for freedom and social justice in the spring of 2011, before the security forces met them with live bullets, which ignited the spark of the revolution throughout the Syrian cities.

Russian raids in Idlib

On the other hand, Al-Jazeera correspondent in Syria said that a child was injured as a result of raids launched by Russian planes targeting the town of Al-Rami, in the southern countryside of Idlib.

The reporter said that the warplanes also targeted several cities and towns in Jabal Al-Zawiya with their raids, which resulted in massive destruction of civilian properties and homes, and the Syrian regime forces bombed with artillery shells the towns of Al-Faterah and Al-Bara in the southern countryside of Idlib.

It is noteworthy that the Idlib governorate and its environs are witnessing a continuous military escalation by the regime forces, despite the ceasefire agreed last year between Russia and Turkey in the region, northwest of Syria.
