He led what is called in Gabon a "gazelle party", that is to say a small party, but Guy Christian Mavioga was not an anonymous.
Son of Mapanes, this is what the poor neighborhoods are called, this tribune, recognizable by his small size and his wide-brimmed hat, had started his political career under the protective wings of the former historic opponent,
Pierre Mamboundou
.
Ambitious, Guy Christian Mavioga had created his own party, the Christian Democratic Bloc (BDC).
He has never been a candidate in a presidential election.
He alternately supported Omar Bongo in 2005, then Ali Bongo in 2009 and 2016. During the last presidential election, he was the spokesperson for the presidential majority.
Calls for peace from the brave
In return, he was promoted to Managing Director of Pizolub, a lubricants distribution company.
Dismissed from this post a year ago, this practicing Christian had launched for a year incessant appeals for the peace of the brave between the opposition and the majority to ease the political climate in the country.
On August 5, he went to reiterate this appeal to the head of government,
Rose Christiane Ossouka Raponda
.
It was almost a farewell.
