China News Service, Beijing, September 3 (Reporter Wu Kan) The 2021 China International Trade in Services Fair "Chinese Medicine Theme Day Launching Ceremony" and the "Sixth Overseas Chinese Traditional Chinese Medicine Conference" were held in Beijing Shougang Park on the 3rd.

  The conference was co-sponsored by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the Beijing Municipal People’s Government and the Beijing Municipal Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. With the theme of "Traditional Chinese Medicine Helps Build a Community of Human Health", the TCM practitioners from more than 20 countries including the United States, Japan, Hungary, Russia, and Argentina The participants started a multi-angle and in-depth exchange and dialogue at the meeting.

  Liu Meichang, chairman of the American Association of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, introduced the major breakthroughs made in American Chinese medicine and acupuncture legislation at the meeting.

"In January 2020, Chinese medicine and acupuncture took the first step to be included in the'U.S. Federal mainstream medical system insurance'. In October 2020, the U.S. Congress passed another bill requiring the evaluation of acupuncture and moxibustion into the veterans' health care system." Liu Meichang said, For 28 years, we have been committed to promoting Chinese medicine and acupuncture to enter the medical insurance of the United States, and we will continue to make unremitting efforts to this end in the future.

  Lin Dangan, president of the Thai Chinese Medical Physicians Association, introduced the process of establishing a "fangcang shelter hospital with integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine" in Thailand.

"Delta mutant virus is raging in Thailand. Our Chinese Medical Physicians Association has repeatedly proposed to the Ministry of Health of the Thai Government to establish a shelter hospital, and finally got approval. Recently, we cooperated with a local hospital to establish a shelter hospital, which mainly treats mild cases. The patients were treated with a combination of Chinese and Western medicine. As of August 20, more than 2,000 patients have been cured. None of the patients admitted to the hospital became severely ill, and there were no deaths."

  Zheng Qiming, Philippine Director of the China-Philippines Chinese Medicine Center, shared the history of the development of Chinese medicine in the Philippines.

He said, “This year Chinese medicine was officially incorporated into the Philippines’ health care system. The government’s accelerated efforts to promote the establishment of Chinese medicine standards are inseparable from Chinese medicine’s strong support for the Philippines’ fight against the epidemic. Our next goal is to open a college of Chinese medicine in Philippine universities. Promote the integration of Chinese medicine courses into the higher education system."

  On the afternoon of the 3rd, more than 40 overseas Chinese medicine association presidents and Chinese medicine experts participated in the 6th Overseas Chinese Medicine Conference Chairman’s Forum, online and offline on Chinese medicine overseas education, sharing of Chinese medicine training bases at home and abroad, and Chinese medicine In-depth discussions were conducted on topics such as remote service, overseas Chinese medicine product development, overseas Chinese medicine hospital construction, overseas registration and sales of Chinese medicine, and medical-enterprise cooperation.

  This conference has received extensive attention and support from the Chinese medical community at home and abroad, with more than 20,000 online participants.

The “Guidelines for the Evaluation of International Medical Services in Traditional Chinese Medicine Institutions (2021 Edition)” and “Guidelines for Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine for International Patients (2021)” were also released at the meeting. Co-build cooperation agreements such as "Intelligent Integrated Traditional Chinese Medicine Rehabilitation Room for Enterprise Employees".

  It is understood that since 2016, the Overseas Chinese Traditional Chinese Medicine Conference has been successfully held for 6 consecutive sessions, attracting nearly 300 Chinese medicine experts, scholars and entrepreneurs from more than 40 countries and regions.
