"In the commercial mode, this project will not work until it is certified by the German regulator," Vitrenko quoted RIA Novosti.

He also added that "this has yet to be confirmed by the European Commission."

He noted that in order to obtain certification, the Nord Stream 2 operator must “confirm full compliance with European law,” which is allegedly impossible.

According to the head of Naftogaz Ukraine, the technical project will be completed in the coming weeks.

Earlier Vitrenko stated that Ukraine expects to conclude contracts for gas transit with companies from the EU.
