The man in his 40s was charged on suspicion of murdering his boss at Dumme bog outside Jönköping on April 21 this year.

According to the prosecutor, the background must have been a conflict regarding money.

- There are circumstances that indicate that the defendant had planned to deprive the plaintiff of his life, but there are also other circumstances that indicate the opposite.

Overall, the district court does not consider that it has been shown that the act was so planned that it must be taken into account in determining the sanction, says councilor Amanda Rörby in a press release.

The man is also sentenced to pay damages to the plaintiff's relatives, as well as to an insurance company.

Claimed a long prison sentence

When the trial ended in the district court, prosecutor Lisa Hedberg demanded that the man be sentenced to at least 18 years in prison for murder.

She then claimed that the violence was extensive and that the man in his 40s attacked his boss, a man in his 55s, from behind completely unprovoked.

The man's lawyer, Fredrik Lager, wanted to see at the end of the trial that the district court applies the lower part of the penalty scale because he believed that the act was not planned.
