• Health UK does not recommend mass vaccination of healthy young people aged 12 to 15 years

Four policemen were injured and dozens of protesters were arrested in protests against the headquarters of the British Medicines Regulatory Agency (MHRA), for its decision to approve

Moderna and Pfizer's

Covid vaccines

in children aged 12 to 15 years.

The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunization (JCVI) has finally decided not to recommend mass vaccination of children before the start of the school year, although it has recommended the inoculation of "vulnerable" minors or those with medical preconditions.

The discomfort of British parents has, however, increased in the last week, and the call at the MHRA headquarters in Canary Wharf caused

a flood of hundreds of protesters,

which later moved to the vaccination center outside the Science Museum in Kensington and several subway stations collapsed.

Shouting

"Our children are not guinea pigs",

the protesters tried to break into the headquarters of the MHRA, the first agency to approve a Covid vaccine in the world. Two weeks earlier, dozens of protesters tried to enter the BBC, ITV and Channel 4 headquarters to protest the coverage of the pandemic by the mainstream media.

The police cordoned off the MHRA surroundings, but the clashes intensified as it has become increasingly frequent in

protests against vaccines in the United Kingdom.

"A number of protesters acted violently against the police and this is unacceptable," read Scotland Yard's twitter account, which confirmed that four officers had been injured.

Despite political pressure, the JCVI experts expressed their opinion against the vaccination of children under 16 years of age, considering that the benefits of vaccines are "marginal", in proportion to the

risks of the severity of the disease in children. .

However, adolescents aged 16 and 17 have been offered the possibility of getting vaccinated before the start of the school year.

The Government fears that going

back to school could trigger cases in England,

as has already happened in Scotland.

There were 121 deaths in the last 24 hours and 42,706 Covid infections were detected, the highest number since mid-July.
