DRC: Lamuka coalition unveils its own electoral calendar

The new leaders of the Ceni are still not known.
The National Assembly announces that it will rule on the issue next week, despite the divisions within religious denominations which must appoint the president of the electoral center.
In this context, the Lamuka coalition suspects Félix Tshisekedi of wanting to organize a shift in the electoral calendar.
To put more pressure on the current power, she unveiled this Friday her own proposal for an electoral calendar, providing for elections in October 2023.

Elections within the constitutional deadline are not only possible, but compulsory so that we do not end up in a situation of high treason in the head of Mr. Felix Tshisekedi.
The time we have left is more or less 29 months, which is more than enough to organize the elections after 24 months.

In his proposed electoral calendar, Lamuka suggests organizing stakeholder discussions between September and October this year on the main electoral reforms.

The urgent step is the consensus so that we make a text organizing the Ceni which is as neutral as possible, which is not political.
For that, we have to meet and discuss.
This will be the trigger for the rest.
"
On this issue, two parties in the current majority agree.
These are the Ensemble pour la République by Moïse Katumbi, and the UNC by Vital Kamerhe.
Joseph Kabila's FCC also wants a broad consensus before going any further.
On the side of the Ceni, it is recalled that the most urgent phase of the process is not only the designation of the leaders of the electoral center, but also the composition of the electoral lists.
