Work on a new national ambulance flight has been ongoing for several years.

The idea is that all of Sweden's regions will share the cost of aircraft, which can be used to transport patients between the country's hospitals.

The aircraft will be based on a handful of locations in Sweden, and in Umeå the premiere is set for the beginning of November.

But the work to get there has not been completely frictionless.

Among other things, a pilot procurement has been taken to court.

Auditors have also criticized the municipal association, which is set to be responsible for the aircraft.

Glenn Nordlund (S), sits as a board member of the municipal association in question and as chairman of Västernorrland's regional board.

- We see good planning going forward, he says.

- I feel confident that we can take this preparatory part further, so that we can start in November with the first activities.
