A 27-year-old young man was rescued by members of the high mountain gendarmerie (PGHM) platoon from Chamonix (Haute-Savoie) on Thursday.

This paraglider had set off from the Aiguille du Midi, in the Mont-Blanc massif, around noon.

The victim was found a few meters below his starting point and his condition was considered worrying.

According to the rescuers, the man could have suffered a malaise in flight.

He was taken to Annecy hospital to undergo examinations and according to the daily, his vital prognosis was engaged.

The PGHM intervened seven times in the Chamonix sector for the single day of Thursday, indicate our colleagues.

On August 8 and 9, emergency services came to the aid of three athletes who all missed their take-off.

One only flew for 50 meters before landing in the trees, in the town of Passy.

The other two, an instructor and his passenger, also got stuck in the branches in Chamonix.
