The English car manufacturer Lotus is now developing drives and unspecified products for environmentally friendly mobility in a new building in Raunheim.

According to the company, 150 engineers from more than 15 nations work in this development center - there should be 200 by the end of the year.

Maximilian Szwaj, who most recently worked for the sports car manufacturer Aston Martin, is head of the Lotus Tech Innovation Center (LTIC).

This news comes at a time when both Opel and Segula Automotive, as strategic partners of the car manufacturer, are cutting numerous positions in development in Rüsselsheim.

At Opel, this is due to cost control and the fact that the Stellantis Group has additional capacities to bring new models on the way.

Lotus, on the other hand, praises the location and emphasizes Raunheim's proximity to the test track in Rodgau-Dudenhofen and the Nürburgring, which formerly belonged to Opel and is now operated by Segula.

The car manufacturer belongs to the Chinese Geely group, which in the past employed developers in Raunheim itself.

From now on you will work for the LTIC, as it is called.
