Since Prime Minister Stefan Löfven announced his impending resignation as S-leader a couple of weeks ago, speculation about who will take over has hailed.

One of the names mentioned is Minister of Social Insurance Ardalan Shekarabi.

But to SVT Nyheter, he now says that it is not relevant for him to take over the S-leadership position:

- No, it's not.

I am very happy and proud to have this assignment, I see no more fun assignment than fighting for higher pensions and better health insurance.

So shall we see you as not available for the mission?

- Yes, says Ardalan Shekarabi.

According to Shekarabi, it is also not relevant to take the job of party secretary, a position that will be filled when current party secretary Lena Rådström Baastad leaves.

- No, I am very happy with the assignment I have.
