Several roads have been flooded and cars have been abandoned in the water masses and thousands of households have been left without electricity.
Authorities are urging people to leave the car at home and take extreme care while the heavy rains last.
Águilas is working to restore the supply of drinking water.
The storm is not expected to be over until Sunday, according to the Spanish Meteorological Institute.
