A 42-year-old man was arrested and taken into police custody after refusing to comply during a check on Tuesday evening in Clayes-sous-Bois (Yvelines).

The motorist also seriously injured a policewoman, reports 78 Actu.

He initially committed a traffic violation and then continued on his way, despite the presence of the police.

Alerted by the anti-crime squad, another police patrol tried to stop the driver.

He would have dragged the agent for several meters

But the latter crashed into the officials' vehicle before dragging a policewoman by grabbing her by her waistcoat.

She was about to throw a harrow on the road to stop the car.

After several yards, the officer managed to free himself but fell to the ground.

The driver would then have voluntarily rolled over on his leg before being apprehended.

The 40-year-old could be prosecuted for attempted murder of a police officer.

The peacekeeper was taken to hospital.

She suffered from injuries to her face, foot, ankle and leg.

A first fifteen-day work stoppage was issued to him.
