It was on Saturday, before the planned party "Garden party", that the Linnaeus students made the decision to pause the zeroing in Kalmar.

The decision was made when several students showed symptoms of covid-19, some of them had in turn been in contact with an infected person.

Now the test results have arrived.

- Now we have received answers to all tests, they were negative and thus we can resume zeroing, says Anton Jacobsson, chairman of the Linnaeus Corps at Linnaeus University to SVT.

Sneaked in yesterday

The zeroing activities in Kalmar were resumed already yesterday.

But Anton Jacobsson says they are prepared to reconsider the decision if necessary.

- It has been a whole introductory week in bad weather, so it is very possible that there are more people with symptoms.

But we must act on the information we have.

At the moment, there is no established infection, and thus the introduction can continue these last days.

Risk of infection spreading

Region Kalmar's assistant infection control doctor Arsene Nzobandora believes that it is too early to say whether the zeroing has driven infection among the students, but sees risks.

- There is a risk of spreading the infection, because the students come from different parts of the country, says Arsene Nzobandora.

The zeroing in Växjö was stopped permanently already on Wednesday after one or more students received positive feedback.
