01 September 2021 Arnold Staal, 50, (motorcyclist no.901) from the Netherlands was initially reported missing. Instead, his body was found last night near his bike, in an inaccessible area, between the third and fourth special stages, on the border with the province of Alessandria. The hypothesis at the moment is that the pilot had an illness.



"It is with great regret that we must inform you of the sad loss of Arnold Staal who participated in the second day of the '2021 Fim International Six Days of Enduro (Isde)' which took place between Lombardy and Piedmont". The Ktm driver (category C3 and member of the Mccz ClubTeam) died between the Casanova Staffora Enduro Test and the Bagnaria Cross Test. When he was reported missing, the Dutch Federation (KNMV) had immediately notified the race direction and the protocol provided for in such cases was triggered. When he was found, the pilot was already dead.
