In recent days ten cases of Covid-19 have been detected at the Gradignan remand center, in Gironde, confirms the regional health agency of Nouvelle Aquitaine.
Seven cases concern prisoners and three members of the prison administration.
A massive screening operation is organized these Thursday and Friday within the establishment, with the support of anti-Covid mediators.
The ARS also specifies that it will promote vaccination since only 173 complete regimens are recorded among the 407 inmates.
