A gruesome murder sparked panic in Michigan, where a 19-year-old pregnant woman was found stabbed to death and dumped in a lake.
US authorities found Yariana Wheeler's body floating in Lake Michigan, and it took nearly a week to be identified by police, and the victim was six to nine months pregnant before she was killed.
And the American police concluded that the victim was from Chicago, and she had several injuries to her body, which indicates that her death is considered a murder.
According to the "New York Post", Yariana may have been thrown into the water anywhere from the north coast of Indiana to the north coast of Lake Michigan in Illinois, and a fisherman found her body in the lake and immediately informed the authorities, according to local media.
US authorities released a sketch to show what they believed the victim looked like before she was killed, and police received dozens of statements, one of which led them to Wheeler.
"When authorities saw the photo they were able to obtain dental records, which led to her eventual identification," Lt. Christopher Covely of the Lake County Sheriff's Office told local media.
Authorities have successfully identified Yariana, but the Lake County Sheriff's Office is now asking the public to provide any information about a possible suspect in her murder.
