In the accident, which occurred on road 604 on Monday afternoon, the suspect first collided with a car and then drove off the road and into a house.
No one was injured in the accident, but the man is now suspected of aggravated drunk driving.
- He has previously been convicted of drunk driving and illegal driving, says Bengt Lövros, on-duty preliminary investigation leader at the police to SVT Jämtland.
The investigation is now led by prosecutor Stefan Ekeroth.
- The reason why he is deprived of his liberty is that there is a risk that he will relapse into crime, the prosecutor says.
