The Director of the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Institutions in Dubai Police, Major General Ali Muhammad Al-Shamali, said that the enrollment of these children in regular schools in Dubai comes within the framework of the Dubai Police strategy, to enable children to enjoy their full rights guaranteed by law, and in line with the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police. He added that as a continuation of the "Let's Learn" initiative launched by penal institutions years ago, to provide an educational and entertaining environment for the children of inmates, this project comes to guarantee the rights of the child to enroll in school seats, according to specific laws and conditions, and to issue accredited certificates to them at each stage of study in which they graduate, so that they can follow-up their studies after returning to their home countries.

For her part, the director of the women’s prison in Dubai, Colonel Jamila Al Zaabi, said that there are five children of the inmates’ children who have completed the legal age to enroll in schools, and there is no one to receive them or take care of them abroad, so Dubai Police provided them with a private housing in a separate building, with private health care. , and nannies to take care of them.

She pointed out that in light of the problem of their being behind their peers during the sentence of their mothers, due to the failure to complete their education and obtain accredited educational certificates, the Dubai Police, in coordination with partners, led by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority, sought to enroll them in school seats after subjecting them to evaluation, and placing each of them In the school stage appropriate to his educational level, and they were distributed between kindergarten and seventh grade, and they started studying at the beginning of the new school year.

Al-Zaabi added, "We have made great efforts over the past two years to enroll the children of female inmates in regular schools, and to enable them to complete their education at the various school levels, in our belief that children must obtain their full rights, including their right to education," noting the role of the supporting bodies of the initiative on speedy response and submission.
