China News Agency, Beijing, August 31 (Reporter Pang Wuji) Wang Menghui, Minister of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of China, stated in Beijing on the 31st that China has built the world's largest housing security system.

On the same day, the State Council Information Office held a press conference on efforts to achieve housing for all people.

Wang Menghui said here that China's housing development has made great achievements.

In 2019, the per capita housing area of China's urban residents reached 39.8 square meters, and the per capita housing area of rural residents reached 48.9 square meters.

In terms of accelerating the improvement of the housing security system, Wang Menghui pointed out that there are three main points:

The first is to accelerate the establishment of a housing security system with public rental housing, affordable rental housing and shared property housing as the main body.

Among them, public rental housing is mainly to solve the problem of urban housing and income distressed families.

At present, urban households with low-income households and low-income families with housing difficulties have achieved all the necessary insurance.

The focus of affordable rental housing is to solve the housing problems of key cities with net population inflows, mainly new citizens and young people in large and medium-sized cities. The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development is now stepping up.

Common property housing is designed by the city government to adjust measures to local conditions, mainly to help residents who have a certain economic strength and cannot afford a house to improve their living conditions as soon as possible.

Second, China has established a relatively complete housing security policy and management system.

It mainly includes fiscal and taxation, finance, land supporting policies, and management mechanisms for access, use, exit, and operation.

The third is to build a huge-scale affordable housing.

From the State Council’s decision in 1994 to deepen the reform of the urban housing system to 2007, more than 10 million low-rent housing and affordable housing were built across the country.

Since the large-scale implementation of the affordable housing project in 2008, China has started the construction of more than 78 million sets of various types of affordable housing and resettlement housing, and more than 22 million people in need have received housing subsidies, that is to say, more than 200 million people have been helped. The people in need have achieved a peaceful home.

During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, Wang Menghui stated that China will focus on the development of affordable rental housing, further improve the housing security system, increase the supply of affordable housing, and strive to achieve housing for all people.
