A grieving bride whose fiancé died in a car accident wore her wedding dress to her groom's funeral as she bids it one last goodbye hours before their wedding in Ireland.

Groom Miles Harty, 20, died in a car accident just hours before he married his fiancée Kate Quilligan, and later Harty was buried in Limerick after a funeral at St Mary's Church, while his fiancée pledged on social media that they are now husband and wife.

Sad scenes published by British media showed clips of the bride, wearing her wedding dress and holding a bouquet of roses, with a picture of her late fiancé in the background.

The girl's father said, according to the Mirror: 'Miles was all my daughter Kate wanted her whole life, she wore her wedding clothes and is going to him at the funeral to say goodbye for the last time.

"I will never forget Miles, it's the hardest day of my life," the father added as he kissed his daughter.

Asketon Parish Priest Sean Longai said Miles Harty was well-liked in his rural community west of Limerick, noting that the town was in shock over his death.

He added, "It is very sad that they are now moving from a wedding to a funeral."
