Chinanews.com, August 30. According to a report compiled by the Spanish "European News", the Spanish Chinese Law Association statistics show that in recent months, at least 1,300 overseas Chinese and Chinese CaixaBank accounts have been blocked or cancelled.

Ms. Chen, an overseas Chinese, is one of them.

According to the National Daily News, Ms. Chen, an overseas Chinese who has lived in Spain for nearly ten years, received a cancellation notice from CaixaBank two months ago. She suddenly and unreasonably asked her to withdraw her savings within 60 days and cancel her account.

In addition, the account can only be withdrawn but not deposited.

During this period, Ms. Chen was very anxious because the account was Ms. Chen's monthly salary.

Without money, there is no way to pay living bills, mortgages, and insurance.

It is reported that she has taken all necessary materials (bank, renta declaration and other documents) to the bank to prove that the funds flow in her and her husband’s accounts are legal, but the result is only to no avail.

According to Ms. Chen, "I tried to open an account with other banks, but none of them wanted to". This situation caused Ms. Chen to feel broken, because her daughter was about to start school in September and needed an account to pay for her tuition.

The Spanish Chinese Law Association stated that: in response to the cancellation of the Chinese CaixaBank account, they have collected one hundred cases and hope to initiate a class action in September or October.
