Activists celebrated on social media the victory of the Iraqi star in weight throwing, Jarrah Nassar, and his winning of the silver medal at the 2020 Summer Paralympics, currently being held in the Japanese capital, Tokyo, a centimeter difference from the gold medalist.

Iraqis praised their world champion, who had previously won gold in the world championships and other competitions, in the weight throwing competition.

Activists highlighted the humanitarian and economic conditions of the hero Nassar, while addressing the news that he won the silver medal in the weight throwing competition, revealing the painful reality experienced by the Iraqi hero, despite his position on the thrones of international championships for years.

Nassar, who was born in Dhi Qar Governorate (southern Iraq) in 1991, works as a vegetable seller and in a modest shop, while he trains at home and in unsuitable conditions to achieve what he has achieved over the past years.

The Iraqi sports journalist, Ali Riah, wrote on his Facebook account, "The great achievement of Jarrah Nassar, is a new cry of protest launched by our heroes against those who ignore them, oppress them, or become rich at the expense of their impoverishment."

And the Iraqi journalist, Hussein Al-Bahadli, published pictures of the hero Jarrah Nassar, on his Facebook account, while he was working in the sale of vegetables, and commented on them, saying, "Jarrah Nassar will shower congratulations on you like rain, but they will forget you, as happened in the 2016 Olympics, and then you will return to your work in order to obtain your halal livelihood." .

The Iraqi journalist, Mahmoud Al-Najjar, wrote on his Twitter account, "A world champion and an apple seller. Jarrah Nassar is a world champion by pushing the shot (throwing weight). Nassar is a winner of several medals in different championships, but unfortunately Nassar works as a grocery owner in his city."

The former star of the Iraqi national football team, Saad Qais, commented on his Twitter account, saying, "The hero Jarrah Nassar has achieved for Iraq what politicians have not achieved since 2003."

Qais added, "A thousand kisses on your forehead, O righteous son of Iraq, because you raised the name and flag of Iraq high by winning a silver in the Paralympic Games in Tokyo."
