The government and the ruling party are coordinating the extraordinary Diet session from the beginning of next month, which the opposition party is seeking.

As a result, the dissolution of the House of Representatives before the LDP presidential election next month will be tightened, and there is a view within the ruling party that the House of Representatives election will be held when the term of office of members of the Diet expires in October.

As the spread of the new coronavirus continues, opposition parties such as the Constitutional Democratic Party say that the reserve fund for this year's budget is insufficient and it is necessary to hurry to formulate a supplementary budget, from 7th next month before the LDP presidential election. We are calling for an extraordinary Diet session to be convened in a 10-day schedule.

Regarding this, the government and the ruling party will formulate a supplementary budget as a result of intermittent discussions such as a meeting between the Liberal Democratic Party's chairman of the Diet, Moriyama, and Chief Cabinet Secretary Kato on the 30th. We are adjusting to forgo the convocation, saying that it is not necessary, and we will confirm the final policy on the 31st and inform the opposition party.

As a result, the dissolution of the House of Representatives before the LDP presidential election announced on the 17th of next month will be tightened.

Within the ruling party, there is a view that the House of Representatives election will be held on October 21, when the term of office of members of the House of Representatives expires, instead of the dissolution, in order to avoid creating a political gap due to the dissolution.

It has also been observed that Prime Minister Suga may take steps to renew the personnel affairs of LDP officers, including Secretary-General Nikai, before the lower house election.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Suga met with Mr. Nikai and others on the 30th and requested that additional economic measures be put together in light of the continuing spread of the new corona infection.

Regarding economic measures, former political research chairman Kishida, who announced his candidacy for the presidential election, also expressed the recognition that measures on the scale of several tens of trillion yen are necessary, including support for fixed costs such as rent according to the scale of the business. It is also expected to become one of the issues in the presidential election.
