Céline Géraud, former judo champion and TV figure, has been hired by Europe 1 as "head of the society service", she said on Monday in Le Parisien.

"I seized the opportunity, she develops. I wanted to take the lead (the reins, editor's note) in a writing, to have responsibilities".

It will also be on the air in the morning of Europe 1 or in the evening when the news requires it, continues the daily.

Céline Géraud is a familiar face of the small screen, passed by Stade 2, TF1 ("The island of temptation", "Automoto", "Star Academy", among others) LCI, Orange Sport, RMC Sport or Eurosport.

Europe 1 experienced its first major strike in June, revealing a fear of a large part of the editorial staff to become a "opinion media" similar to CNews.

Since then, in addition to the planned elimination of around forty positions, there are many contenders at the start, as are the evictions.

"I have not witnessed the painful weeks, comments Céline Géraud in Le Parisien. For my part, I have carte blanche."
