Since Monday, the health pass is now mandatory for employees who work in places open to the public.

The measure does not delight all employees, some even say they are ready to change jobs so as not to have to be vaccinated against Covid-19.

This is the case in this shopping center located in the Paris region.

REPORTING

At the entrance of this large shopping center, the QR codes of each customer are scanned before entering the shops.

Monday morning, it is now up to the employees to show a white footing to be able to come to work.

A "reassuring" gesture for Mélissa, the store manager.

"We know that people have made their arrangements. They are tested, they are vaccinated," she says.

"It still allows you to find a slightly pre-Covid atmosphere, it's pretty cool!"

From this Monday, employees of companies that welcome the public (performance halls, cinemas, nightclubs, health centers, shopping centers, etc.) must have a health pass in order to be able to come to work.

This concerns not only the employees but also the volunteers, the temporary workers and the subcontractors.

Delivery people are exempt.

"I do not intend to be vaccinated"

And this new extension of the health pass to fight the coronavirus pandemic is far from delighting everyone.

In a ready-to-wear store opposite the shopping center, Lina denounces a hidden vaccine obligation.

"I have not been vaccinated and I do not plan to be vaccinated," she says.

And this saleswoman seems determined: "If I no longer have a solution, I intend to find another job where they will not impose this health pass on me".

If the employee does not have a health pass, he can take leave or RTT.

If this is not possible, the employment contract is not broken but suspended.

The employer then has 3 days to think about a solution.

This can take the form of a new assignment.

As at the SNCF where a controller without a pass will change activity to be in a place that does not welcome the public.

But some companies cannot reassign their employees.

The employee will then stay at home without being paid.

He will not be able to be made redundant or to receive unemployment.

"People are very stuck on the subject"

These situations are "complicated" to manage, deplores Benoit Berthelot, general manager of the "La Cité des exchanges" convention center near Lille.

"People are very stuck on the subject, even employees with whom we get along very well and who are very involved in the company," he explains.

Before adding: "I know that I have one or two cases where the person prefers to bear all the financial consequences and stay at home".

But Benoit Berthelot is however very satisfied with this political decision.

Its order book is full until the end of the year.

He is convinced that this compulsory health pass, including for employees, reassures those who organize conferences in his establishment.
