August 29, 2021 In an attempt to curb the new wave of infections from Covid-19, Israel now offers the third vaccination against the coronavirus even to those who are 12 years old.

The decision of several countries to offer the third booster has also been criticized by the WHO, which insists that access to vaccines should first be given to the poorest countries.

But Israel, with its 9.3 million inhabitants, touches a daily toll of 8,000 Covid cases every day and therefore Prime Minister Naftali Bennett is trying to strengthen his vaccination campaign.

"The third dose of the vaccine works," he assured in a statement, announcing that it is now "available for ages 12 and up". The premier added that now two million Israelis have received the third dose and that "the increase in severe morbidity has begun to slow down".
