August 29, 2021An 18-year-old young man, Gennaro Leone, died in the night at the Caserta hospital after being stabbed in the leg by a peer during a dispute.

The episode occurred around midnight in the center of Caserta in Piazza Correra, but the victim died three hours later in the hospital of cardiac arrest caused by excessive blood loss.

The carabinieri of the Compagnia di Caserta, led by Captain Pietro Tribuzio, have identified the aggressor, a contemporary of Leone who could soon be stopped at the disposal of the judicial authority.

Leone, resident in San Marco Evangelista (Caserta), attended a boxing gym in Marcianise.

According to what was reconstructed by the carabinieri, who intervened on the spot on the recommendation of the victim's friends, the young man would have quarreled with his peer for futile reasons, perhaps for too much glance - the motive is still under investigation - when suddenly the attacker, residing in the hinterland of Caserta, extracted a switchblade hitting Leone in the leg, and probably severing his femoral artery.
