A new explosion rocks Kabul as a result of a missile attack

An explosion that appeared to have been caused by a missile was heard Sunday in Kabul, initially raising fears that it was a new attack, three days after a bloody attack on the Afghan capital's airport as Western countries complete evacuations.

The explosion that shook Kabul and was heard by AFP journalists, was caused by the launch of a missile that "fell on a house, according to preliminary information," according to an official in the previous government that was toppled by the Taliban two weeks ago.

And there was a suicide attack on Thursday evening, claimed by the "ISIS" organization - the province of Khorasan, which killed more than a hundred people, most of them Afghans, who were massing in front of the airport hoping to escape from the Taliban regime, as well as 13 American soldiers.

US President Joe Biden had warned Saturday that a new attack was imminent "very likely" in this region, a few days before the complete withdrawal of US forces as well as Western forces on August 31.
