About 100 countries, including Korea, Japan, the UK, France and Germany, participated in the statement.

"We are committed to ensuring that our citizens, residents, and employees, the Afghans who have worked with us, and those at risk continue to move freely to destinations outside of Afghanistan," the statement said in a statement from the U.S. State Department.

"We have received assurances from the Taliban that all foreign nationals and Afghans who have been granted travel permits from our side will be allowed to move out of Afghanistan in a safe and orderly manner," he said.

"We will continue to issue travel documents to these Afghans," the statement added.

The U.S. is evacuating Afghanistan, which is scheduled for March 31.
