U.S. Department of Defense said that two IS planners and collaborators were killed and one injured in the operation that droned on the IS-Khorasan base.

It said it hit a high-level target in a single attack, adding that there were no civilian casualties.

President Biden said the attack would not be the last and would continue to pursue and pay for those involved in the heinous terrorism.

President Biden is concerned that he has received reports from the military that the likelihood of an attack between 24 and 36 hours is very high, even though civilians are continuing to evacuate in extremely dangerous conditions three days before the US withdrawal deadline.

In response, the US embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan, said there was a terrorist threat around Kabul Airport and ordered its citizens to leave the area immediately.

The embassy specifically noted that the threat of terrorism was raised at the South Gate of Kabul Airport, the Ministry of Home Affairs Office and the gate near the Panjishir gas station to the northwest of the airport.
