Kungsör municipality needs to save money and the park department that handles the welcome greeting has been given a reduced budget by one million, or three full-time jobs, and it has been noticed, according to residents in Kungsör that SVT has met.

- Now it's ugly and overgrown, it's not beautiful, says royal singer Ann-Britt Ahlstrand.

According to Rune Larsen, technical manager at Kungsör municipality, they chose not to plant the flowers this year because the risk was imminent that they would not have time to take care of them.

- One thing is to plant them, but it should look good throughout the summer, sour but it is always money that rules in the end, he says.

But there is still hope for those who want the greeting back.

- We will take it back as soon as the economy gets better, says Rune Larsen and continues:

- If there is someone out there who has a better alternative, who requires less care, I am happy to accept it.

Then maybe it will also remain the next time the economy tightens.

In the clip we see what the place looks like after the flowers have been removed.
