"Blinken ... reaffirmed the long-term commitment of the US government to building a strong, stable and prosperous Iraq," said the press office of the United States Department of State.

It is noted that the US Secretary of State expressed confidence in a long-term, deep, multifaceted and strategic partnership with Iraq.

Blinken stressed that the mission to combat the Islamic State * is not over.

“The United States, as the leader of the anti-IS coalition and part of the NATO mission in Iraq, will continue to train, advise and support the Iraqi forces,” he concluded. 

Earlier it was reported that the United States would stop participating in military operations in Iraq by December 31, 2021, but will continue to support the Iraqi security forces.
