At 11 o'clock on Friday, the Green Party's spokespersons Märta Stenevi and Per Bolund will hold a joint summer speech in the Järva area in northern Stockholm.

The focus is expected to be on the climate with proposals for new, sharper goals.

According to DN, the party proposes that Sweden already in 2035 have emissions as close to net zero.

Today, the climate policy goals are about achieving zero emissions by 2045.

The new, more sharply set goal will be achieved with the help of a higher carbon dioxide tax and an earlier end date for the sale of fossil-fueled cars.

The party also wants to establish its own climate budget intended for the work, where a special authority will be responsible for following up how it goes year by year.

According to Märta Stenevi, emissions will need to be reduced between 12 and 15 percent per year.
