On August 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree "On a lump sum payment to certain categories of citizens receiving a pension."

The head of state decided to make a lump sum payment of 10 thousand rubles to citizens permanently residing in the country and who, as of August 31, 2021, are recipients of pensions assigned in accordance with the Law of February 12, 1993 No. 4468-I.

It must be performed in September by the relevant authorities on the basis of the documents contained in the payment or pension file, without submitting an application.

The deputy head of the Ministry of Labor Olga Batalina said that this amount will be paid by about 43 million pensioners.

At a meeting on the implementation of presidential decrees, the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Russia Anton Kotyakov said that by the end of next week, 30.7 million pensioners will receive payment to the card, another 12.7 million will begin to receive it from September 3.
