Local sources said that two buses left the Daraa al-Balad area in the city of Daraa, carrying a second batch of displaced people to northern Syria, while two civilians were killed and 6 others were wounded yesterday, Thursday, in shelling carried out by the regime forces on the town of Tafas in the countryside of Daraa governorate (south of the country).

The sources indicated to Al Jazeera that the displaced are fighters who reject the settlement and their families.

She added that the displacement comes after the failure to reach an agreement so far between the committee in charge of the residents of Daraa al-Balad and the Syrian regime, in light of the insistence of the regime forces and the Iranian-backed forces to enter the city's neighborhoods and camps that have besieged it for more than two months, which is rejected by the people.

And the Syrian News Agency (SANA) said that this step comes in implementation of an agreement that requires the expulsion of those who reject the settlement, the settlement of the conditions of wanted persons, and the deployment of military points in the neighborhood.

On June 25, the Syrian regime forces and their affiliated militias imposed a siege on the Daraa al-Balad area in the city of Daraa after the opposition refused to hand over light weapons, as it violated an agreement brokered by Russia in 2018, which stipulated the handing over of heavy and medium weapons.

A month later, the Daraa Al-Balad Reconciliation Committee and the regime forces reached an agreement that required a partial withdrawal of the remaining light weapons in the hands of the opposition, and a partial presence of the regime forces, but the latter violated the agreement and insisted on complete control of the area.

Despite several meetings held by the negotiating committee on the opposition in Daraa governorate with representatives of the regime and Russia, no truce has been reached in the governorate so far.

On the other hand, local sources told Anadolu Agency that the regime forces showered residential neighborhoods in the town of Tafas with artillery and rockets, killing two civilians and wounding 6 others, some of them seriously.

The sources reported that, during the past 48 hours, the regime forces sent large reinforcements to Daraa governorate, including about 40 tanks, armored vehicles, dozens of vehicles and anti-ground forces belonging to the 16th Brigade backed by Russia, as these reinforcements were accompanied by Russian soldiers.

On the other hand, media close to the regime reported that two of its members were killed and a number of wounded, in an attack by opponents on a military bus near the town of Sheikh Maskin (north of Daraa).
