Foreign Minister Ann Linde talks about the evacuations of Swedes and local staff from the country.

- The Swedish evacuation at Kabul airport has been completed, she says.

In total, just over 1,100 people have been evacuated.

All local staff at the embassy have been evacuated.

Several human rights activists and journalists have also been helped to leave the country.

In addition, 500 Swedes and a number of former defense employees have been evacuated.

The Taliban has stopped some Afghan citizens, including former defense personnel, from entering the airport, Ann Linde says.

She says that the government hopes to be able to evacuate remaining Swedish citizens and former defense employees at a "later stage".

She also thanks everyone who was involved in the evacuations for their efforts.

- In close cooperation with other countries, the Swedish group sent out at the airport has done a fantastic job in a very dangerous environment.

The result is that more than 1,100 people have been evacuated.
