China News Service, August 27, reported that a source from the Ministry of Health of Japan revealed on the evening of the 26th that the Modena new crown vaccine, which had previously found a foreign body, was suspected to be contaminated with a metal powder because the particles found in the vaccine reacted with magnets.

According to previous reports, Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare said on the 26th that multiple vaccination sites reported foreign bodies in unused Modena vaccine, and the government decided to suspend the use of 1.63 million doses of the vaccine.

On August 16, local time, Tokyo Dome Stadium in Japan became the new crown vaccination center, and people came to get vaccinated in an orderly manner.

On the other hand, the Spanish company Rovi, which is responsible for the production of these vaccines, said on the 26th local time that as of now, no safety or effectiveness issues related to the Modena vaccine have been found.

According to reports, these 1.63 million doses of vaccines came from three batches of the same production line of Rowe, and have been delivered to 863 vaccination sites in Japan.

Rowe said that the root cause of the incident may be related to one of the production lines, and the company is continuing to investigate in accordance with standard procedures.

As a preventive measure, shipments of two other batches of vaccines have been suspended.
