27 August 2021 The Slovenian presidency of the EU has started the procedure for revising the list of countries that can travel to the EU, proposing a travel ban in the Union for unvaccinated citizens of the United States, Israel, Montenegro, Kosovo , North Macedonia and Lebanon.

The written procedure will expire on Monday at 2 pm: if none of the 27 Member States between now and then have any objections, the ban will become effective.
