August 27, 2021The groups of the Conference League, the debut continental competition, were drawn today in Istanbul. Roma, in the first pot, were included in group C together with Zorya Luhansk (Ukraine), CSKA Sofia (Bulgaria) and Bodo / Glimt (Norway). The Giallorossi led by Mourinho had qualified by beating Trabzonspor in the preliminaries: yesterday 3-0 at the Olimpico, after the 2-1 first leg.
The eight groups
Group A: Lask, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Alaksert, HJK Helsinki
Group B: Gent, Partizan, Flora Tallin, Anorthosis
Group C: Roma, Zorja, CSKA Sofia, Bodo / Glimt
Group D: AZ Alkmaar, Cluj, Jablonec, Randers
Group E: Slavia Prague, Feyenoord, Union Berlin, Maccabi Haifa
Group F: Copenhagen, Paok, Slovan Bratislava, Lincoln Red Imps
Group G: Tottenham, Rennes, Vitesse, NS Mura
Group H: Basel, Qarabag, Qayrat, Omonia.
The teams in each group face each other with home and away games. The same teams will face each other on the first and fifth day or on the second and sixth or on the third and fourth. The top two in each group will continue their European adventure in the knockout stage. The group winners will qualify for the round of 16. The runners-up will go to the single-elimination play-offs, where they will face the third of the UEFA Europa League groups. First day on September 16th, last shift on December 9th.
