The quarrel arose when the Swiss supporters tried to enter the arena.
- There were 7,800 tickets sold, but none to the Basel supporters.
We heard rumors that they would still come to Stockholm to try to get into the match, and that was true, says Ola Österling at the Stockholm police.
Attacked the guards
The police met a group of supporters at Gullmarsplan and explained to them that they had to watch the match on TV instead, and escorted them to a sports bar at Hötorget, says Österling.
But a group went to the Tele2 arena where they attacked the security guards.
- They wanted to get into the match, says Ola Österling.
33 people could be arrested and are now in custody on suspicion of violent rioting.
