Two nominations and one waiver.
Thursday, August 26 was very hectic for the primary of the right.
If the former Republican boss Laurent Wauquiez preferred to throw in the towel, Eric Ciotti and Michel Barnier have embarked on the battle for the presidential nomination.

Difficult to be more opposed than
Eric Ciotti
and Michel Barnier.
On the one hand, the little deputy for the Alpes-Maritimes, with easy temper, never appointed to a government and who harvests on the lands of the extreme right.
On the other, the tall and phlegmatic Michel Barnier, four times minister, twice European commissioner, Brexit negotiator for Brussels and more in favor of a more liberal and less nervous right.
These are two more candidates, who join
Valérie Pécresse
and Philippe Juvin in a primary which is not yet certain to stand.
Indeed, the primary does not have the favors of the boss of the Republicans Christian Jacob
Laurent Wauquiez denounces the divisions
This multiplication of candidates will in any case have got the better of Laurent Wauquiez.
The former president of the LR denounced the divisions in his camp.
He especially felt that his time had not come, not convinced of the chances of the right next year and rather eyeing towards the presidential election 2027. The support of the president of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region could however weigh heavily for the candidate he will choose.

that Laurent Wauquiez criticized again this Thursday for not accepting the game of the primary.
