China News Agency, Taipei, August 26. The administrative affairs department of the Taiwan authorities recently confirmed that as of 5 o'clock on the 25th, four meat products containing African swine fever virus have been found in Taiwan again.

According to a report by Lianhe News on the 26th, a batch of meat products imported from Vietnam was tested with African swine fever virus. After investigation, the batch of meat products was distributed by a mother and daughter surnamed Deng, and some of them have been distributed to all parts of Taiwan, counties and cities. Launch an emergency search.

Chen Jizhong, chairman of the "Council of Agriculture" of the Taiwan authorities, said on the 26th that more than 5,320 places have been checked and 54 suspicious meat products have been sent for inspection. 4 of them tested positive, and 2 of them were raw pork.

Chen Jizhong said that the high percentage of positives is like the African swine fever virus "at the door of the house."

Next, more than 6,400 pig farms in Taiwan will be inspected. If it is found that those who use “kitchen waste” pig farming without qualified “food waste” equipment, they will be fined according to law.

Huang Jincheng, deputy chairman of the "Council of Agriculture" of the Taiwan authorities, said that after investigation, the smuggled meat products of Deng's mother and daughter have been sold to more than 1,300 places in Taiwan, starting in March at the earliest.

Now that African swine fever has indeed entered the country, the last line of defense is "kitchen waste". If there is a live virus sent to the pig farm, the prevention will be broken.

According to reports, there are 676 pig farms in Taiwan that use “kitchen waste” to raise pigs.

Zhou Chongxi, a professor at the National Taiwan University School of Veterinary Medicine, said that African swine fever has a high recurrence rate and is difficult to eliminate. All channels that may be introduced into Taiwan should be completely prevented.

Now the line of defense is high-temperature cooking, but I am also worried about fish slipping through the net due to the negligence or inertia of the pig farm.
