The Le Mans public prosecutor's office announced on Wednesday that a judicial investigation had been opened against X for intentional homicide of a minor under 15 years old.

Three newborn bodies were discovered in the annex of a house in Mézeray (Sarthe).

On Monday, a 40-year-old man living in this house contacted the Sarthe gendarmerie after discovering, "concealed in an annex of the property which he had occupied for several years the remains of at least one decomposed body", had indicated , Tuesday, the prosecution in a statement.

The investigation was entrusted to the gendarmerie company of La Flèche.

Expertise to identify children

An investigating judge was seized on Wednesday.

"The first of the acts which will be carried out by the investigating judge will be expert reports for the purposes of identifying the children, by comparing the DNA taken with all the DNA of relatives, of people who have occupied the premises", said the prosecution.

“All the people who contributed to the discovery have been heard.

As it stands, there was no police custody or coercive measure.

The investigation has only just begun, ”continued the prosecution.
