“The digital economy shows the fastest growth rates not only in Russia, but around the world.

Of course, there will be many management professions where programming is not needed (financial accounting, analytics), but if a person has basic knowledge of how algorithms work, how this algorithm can be improved, then our economy will develop faster than the economies of our competitors.

This offer can be welcomed, I am sure that millions of our children will want to learn the basics of programming, ”explained Svintsov.

According to him, teenagers, for example, will be able to write games, applications, programs and develop both their skills and the Russian economy.

Earlier, Tatyana Trubnikova, Director of the Department for Coordination of Programs and Projects of the Ministry of Digital Science, announced that pupils of 8-11 grades will be able to study programming languages for free in two-year courses.

According to her, the first recruitment will open in 2022 as part of the federal project "Human Resources for the Digital Economy".

She noted that the training will help schoolchildren to determine their future profession and form the skills that are in demand in the digital economy.
