Four planes of the Russian Defense Ministry took off from Kabul with citizens of Russia, the CSTO countries, Uzbekistan and Ukraine on board.

"Four aircraft of the military transport aviation of the Russian Defense Ministry, having taken on board the citizens of the Russian Federation, the CSTO member states (Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan), Uzbekistan and Ukraine, took off from the airfield in Kabul," the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

In particular, two planes delivered the citizens of this country to Kyrgyzstan.

The aircraft of the military transport aviation of the Russian Federation also landed at the airfield of the city of Gissar in Tajikistan, where it delivered the evacuated citizens of the republic.

On the morning of August 25, it became known that the military transport aviation of the Russian Federation, in accordance with the instructions of Vladimir Putin, was evacuating more than 500 people from Afghanistan.

These included both Russians and citizens of the countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), as well as Ukraine.

The defense department said that an aviation group of four military transport aircraft was created to carry out the evacuation.

On each board, to provide medical assistance and support to the evacuees, there were brigades of military doctors with the necessary equipment and medicines.

In addition, all Russian military aircraft had an adequate supply of drinking water, blankets and food rations.

Russian Ambassador to Kabul Dmitry Zhirnov also said that more than 360 Afghans with Russian citizenship left Afghanistan on planes sent by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

“More than 360 are Afghans with Russian passports.

At the same time, they are full-fledged citizens of Russia.

Let them also have our second citizenship, ”Zhirnov said on the air of“ Russia-1 ”.

According to him, a small group of diplomats from the CSTO countries took off on the same flight.

Russian planes will provide them with landing in their home countries, the diplomat said.

Recall that on August 16, representatives of the Taliban movement, after seizing almost the entire territory of Afghanistan, announced the end of the war.

President Ashraf Ghani fled the country.

He later announced that he was in the UAE and planned to return to Afghanistan in the future.

In the first days after the Taliban came to power, footage from the Kabul airport caused a great resonance.

On the videos that appeared on the network, it was seen how dozens of people climb onto the landing gear and fuselage of an American aircraft, which was in the process of taking off at the time of the shooting.

Subsequently, the US Air Force reported that human remains were found in the landing gear compartment of a C17 aircraft, which had surrounded hundreds of people on the runway at Kabul airport.

They managed to find them after the arrival of the aircraft at the Al-Udeid air base in Qatar.

Later, the RT film crew visited the airport in Kabul.

RT correspondent Murad Gazdiev said that a tense situation remains at the facility.

According to him, the entire airport is filled with shell casings and fragments of flash-noise grenades, and the territory of the runway is fenced with barbed wire everywhere.

According to an RT correspondent, "not even ten minutes pass without shots on the territory of the airport."

“Either at the airport, the Americans shuffle the locals at the fence, then at the main entrance, where the Taliban * are already on duty and scares away those who want to escape,” Gazdiev said.

In addition, in addition to shell casings and fragments of grenades, clothes are scattered everywhere.

"The barbed wire in places, like a Christmas tree, is hung with scraps of clothing - a reminder of the terrible crush in the early days of the evacuation," the RT correspondent noted.

According to Gazdiev, NATO soldiers are lining up "approved" for the evacuation of Afghans in squares right under the sun.

"Everyone is forced to sit under the summer Afghan sun: women, children ... for hours waiting for their evacuation, as reported by the American media," an RT correspondent said.

Earlier, the new Afghan authorities announced that the evacuation from the country can be carried out only until August 31.

Russian Permanent Representative to the EU Vladimir Chizhov expressed the opinion that it would be rather difficult to complete the evacuation on time due to the situation at the Kabul airport.

"On the one hand, the Americans are addressing the Taliban, they say:" Provide people with safe passage to the airport. "

And when a crowd is walking, they themselves begin to shoot like in the air, scaring these people away from the airport.

So chaos is the word that best describes the current situation, ”the diplomat said on the air of the Russia 24 channel.
