"Four aircraft of the military transport aviation of the Russian Defense Ministry, having taken on board the citizens of the Russian Federation, the CSTO member states (Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan), Uzbekistan and Ukraine, took off from the airfield in Kabul," the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

In particular, two planes delivered the citizens of this country to Kyrgyzstan.

The aircraft of the military transport aviation of the Russian Federation also landed at the airfield of the city of Gissar in Tajikistan, where it delivered the evacuated citizens of the republic.

On the morning of August 25, it became known that the military transport aviation of the Russian Federation, in accordance with the instructions of Vladimir Putin, was evacuating more than 500 people from Afghanistan.

These included both Russians and citizens of the countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), as well as Ukraine.

The defense department said that an aviation group of four military transport aircraft was created to carry out the evacuation.

On each board, to provide medical assistance and support to the evacuees, there were brigades of military doctors with the necessary equipment and medicines.

In addition, all Russian military aircraft had an adequate supply of drinking water, blankets and food rations.

Russian Ambassador to Kabul Dmitry Zhirnov also said that more than 360 Afghans with Russian citizenship left Afghanistan on planes sent by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

“More than 360 are Afghans with Russian passports.
