None of the approximately 14,100 apartments that the municipal housing company has will be rented out to new tenants.

The CEO does not know how long the stop will last.

- We must let our tenants who have been affected by the floods get somewhere to live in the first place, says Cathrine Holgersson, CEO of Gavlegårdarna.

Does not exclude rent increases

More than 100 tenants have been hit hard by the downpour and received a lot of water in their apartments.

Many of them have been forced to stay in hotels.

400 apartments in Sätra with basements also have major problems.

Gavlegårdarna has not started all the lifts in their houses either, just over 60 lifts do not work at present.

 - It will take months before all apartments are repaired.

The drying time is in some cases up to three months and it may last into next year, says Cathrine Holgersson.

She does not rule out rent increases to cover the costs of all the damages.

- Just as insurance premiums will increase, this will also affect rents, says Cathrine Holgersson.
